Tyler Excellence Awards for Public Sector Organizations

Every year, we look forward to recognizing our clients who use Tyler software to make an impact within their organizations and communities. To honor our clients’ leadership and innovation, we established the Tyler Excellence Awards (TEA) in 2010. Since then, we have awarded more than 300 public sector organizations for excellence in developing, deploying, and maintaining solutions in new ways.

Adopting new technology into your organization is no easy feat, and organizations like yours make the big decision to partner with Tyler Technologies to better serve your constituents and enhance your communities.

Our clients are so focused on serving their communities that they rarely take the time to celebrate the significance of their innovations. TEA recognition allows them to step back and showcase their community impact.

To honor their success, TEA winners receive complimentary travel, accommodations, and registration to our annual Connect user conference. The clients are recognized in various ways throughout the conference and presented with an engraved crystal award to bring back to their agency.

The Tyler Excellence Awards were established to acknowledge clients who demonstrate leadership, innovation, and excellence in developing, deploying, and maintaining Tyler solutions in new ways — because our clients are a big part of why our solutions are so successful.

Categories For Nomination

Performance & Innovation:

  • Recognizing organizations that have spurred innovation through their Tyler solution(s) to redefine what performance and accountability look like—both within their department and within their community.

Operational Efficiency:

Recognizing organizations that have increased operational efficiencies through technology projects using Tyler solutions, specifically those reducing barriers for performing autonomous, essential tasks and delivering better public service.

Data & Transparency:

  • Recognizing organizations that have used Tyler solutions to creatively and transparently communicate valuable data to their communities and use those insights to make data-driven decisions.

Civic Interaction & Public Trust:

  • Recognizing agencies that have designed a better civic experience with government through technology solutions that foster trust and simplify interactions with enhanced engagement with residents and the business community.

Digital Services & Cloud:

  • Recognizing organizations that have flipped their Tyler technology stack into the cloud or have launched Tyler solutions directly in the cloud for improved digital service, better security, and increased access.

Equity & Access:

  • Recognizing organizations that have improved access to government services to promote a more fair and equitable society by ensuring programs and services reach all residents in need.

Connected Community:

  • Recognizing agencies that have effectively integrated multiple Tyler solutions to enable a fully, connected community within their agency, or across agency or jurisdiction boundaries, and with their residents.

Entry Requirements & Rules for Participation

Deadline for all submitted materials is Thursday, February 29, 2024.

We encourage you to provide as much detail and information as possible on your entries. All applicants will be notified if a follow-up interview is necessary after entries have been reviewed.

Any Tyler client who has implemented a Tyler solution before Dec. 31, 2023, is eligible to enter. No additional purchase this calendar year is needed to be eligible. Entries may come from one person or from a group of people at a single organization.

Organization provides reasonable insight into the use of Tyler solution(s) within organization under the selected submission category (listed separately).

Organization has received approval from senior management within organization to participate in the Tyler Excellence Awards for the Public Sector contest.

Organization is willing to participate in video and/or written success story, unless prohibited by state law or jurisdictional authority.

Organization agrees to and understands that Tyler may use final entries for promotional and public relations materials.

  • Free admission for one to user conference. You will be reimbursed for admittance if you register for the conference before the winners are announced.
  • Reasonable airfare or travel accommodations to Connect 2024 in Indianapolis capped at $1080 round-trip. You must make your own travel arrangements through the Tyler travel partner, Concur, and will be given more information upon notification of award.
  • Hotel accommodation for three nights and four days (May 19-22, 2024).

*Tyler Advisory Board members who choose to judge the awards and/or enter into the awards contest must agree to NOT vote for their submission or solicit votes for their organization’s entry.

*Federal clients please verify your eligibility for this benefit with the agency designee.
